Activity Dates: (Two six month activities)
A1: 05/05/2016 - 04/11/2016
A2: 05/11/2016 - 04/05/2017
Hosting Organization:
https://www.otinternational.org/

Description of the Project:
This EVS project will be a continuation of our current EVS project, Youth 4 Youth 2. It has proven to be a very successful project in our community brining young people closer by working with them and showing that we understand their problems by offering results.
During this project our volunteers together with members of the organization met with local youth and identified their problems.
Based on these problems we organized various events and activities to help the youth overcome these problems. We organized workshops to help youth improve their CVs and to help them find jobs. We helped many young people get involved in Youth in Action projects all over Europe and also helped young people go on EVS projects in other countries.
We saw that there was a great need for a project like this and there are still many young people who can benefit from this project and this is why we want to continue the project. We want to get more involved with the local youth and to identify their problems and show them that when youth work with youth we can have great results.
We want to help more youth take advantage of the Erasmus+ program and help them further their studies and help them find jobs. We want to get them more involved in their community and teach them about new cultures.

With all the problems that young people are facing today the environment
seems to be the last factor to concern them. Yes they are aware that there is
a problem but how severe is the problem? Our project will look at ways that
we can make small changes in our lives that will benefit the environment and
ourselves at the same time. Our project will look at various ways that we can
make changes in our daily routines and habits to have a more positive impact
on the environment and at the same time give us some reward. These
rewards could be financial in some ways and can also be person. We will
look at the situation of each of the young groups and find ways that they can
find ways to impact their environment in a better way.
Our youth hear about environmental problems but very little truth about the
problems is shown through education, resulting in a common knowledge that
environmental problems exist but why they exist or how we can make the
change is unknown. This project will help educate the youth on the reality of
the problems giving them the opportunity to look at the problems directly and
to understand why change is needed and that the change starts from each
one of us.

EVS in Palermo!!!

The ENERGY+ project is a proposal for a European Voluntary Service at CESIE, Palermo for the period of 9 months for 2 rounds of 6 volunteers coming from 5 different Programme Countries: France, Greece, Latvia, Spain and Slovenia and 1 Partner Country: Serbia.

The project foresees the involvement of participants facing difficulties in entering the labor market, while 50% of them fall into the category of youth with fewer opportunities, as social, economic and geographical constraints.

The project aims at the acquisition of skills (personal, soft & professional) for increasing volunteers’ employability, getting new life perspective and offering valuable input to CESIE’s activities both in the office and locally, bringing new cultural tendencies, way of thinking and acting.

Focusing on the importance of balancing personal and professional life, ENERGY+ will deal mainly with the organization of creative activities and workshops for increasing migrants’ social and labour inclusion. Given the high numbers of migrants arriving at the SPRAR Bureaus, who are mostly minors and young men, and their relative physical inactivity, the project will seek to alter this through support to CESIE’s current actions with the target groups but also encouraging volunteers to take initiative, and implement their own ideas. This will create interaction between the locals, the internationals and the new arrivals and young migrants, offering the means to the target groups to feel involved, stimulated and eventually empowered for a healthy social and labour life.

The main objectives of the project are to:

-Equip participants with employability and soft skills for their future careers.

-Introduce participants to the significance of leading a balanced life combining office work and outdoor activities.

-Strengthen the principle of social inclusion through voluntary work using international and local approaches.

-Utilize the talent and energy of the participants ready to offer and bring the change (in a multicultural environment with high percentage of people at risk of social exclusion).

-Promote interaction, reciprocal understanding and intercultural integration among local beneficiaries.

For the smooth flow of the project, the activities will follow the structure below:

-Conceptualization and design of workshops on social inclusion, personal and professional development through non-formal learning. With CESIE’s support the volunteers will enrich our current projects and will design their own workshops.

-Presentation of workshops’ aims and content to local beneficiaries via meetings at the office. Workshops’ contents will depend on the interests of the volunteers and the target group, as theatre, music, dance performance, painting, design, recycling and up-cycling, sharing kitchen habits, etc.

-Introduction of the activities at local social centers cooperating with CESIE.

CESIE

Registered office: Via B. Leto 1 - 90040 Trappeto (PA)

CESIE is a non-profit organisation officially recognized by the Italian Government since 2001 and an ECSO (Civil Society Organisation with member organisations

in more than 8 European countries) recognized by the European Commission DG EAC.

CESIE is accredited by the University of Palermo for internships and by the Sicilian Region for Vocational Training and orientation.

-Implementation of the workshops with migrant youth.

-Evaluation of activities and learning outcomes with the support of CESIE staff.

The project will match the positive influence of a learning mobility on personal level with the impact and enrichment of the interaction between volunteering youngsters on a working environment at a European organization (as CESIE) and on the creative development of the community.

ENERGY+ has the following structure:

CESIE will host 10 volunteers, coming from Programme countries: Greece, France, Latvia, Spain and Slovenia and 2 volunteers from a Partner country: Serbia.

Each partner will send 2 volunteers split in 2 rounds (1+1).

Role of each organisation: CESIE will be the Coordinating and Receiving organization while all the partners will assume the role of Sending organization.

Venue: Palermo, CESIE.

Planned Dates (to be confirmed, probably they will be changed)

First round: 01/03/2015 -30/11/2015

Second round: 01/02/2016- 31/10/2016

English version:

'Go4YOU: Governance for the Youth’, a project under Action 1.3 Youth Democracy Projects of Youth in Action Programme 2007-13 of the European Union, has been developed by 4 organisations in Greece and Romania (KEKPA-DIEK & EDRA in Greece, Organizatia Studentilor din Arad & Ofensiva Tinerilor in Romania)
The main subject of the project ‘Governance for Youth’ (GO4YOU) focuses on the young people participation, mainly youth with disabilities, in democratic processes such as to learn to participate, to organise and be involved in consultation processes, to be heard and to influence their reality and finally to influence the political scene and those who take decisions for them. The project will last 273 days and will concern 28 participants (7 by the coordinator and 7 by each of the 3 promoters). This general subject has been divided into two main fields of objectives: youths to learn to participate in democratic life and youths to learn to influence those who take decisions that concern them. The scheduled activities focus on: recording by heterogeneous groups of young people (disabled and not) of a city’ s spots that concern the urban accessibility for the disabled (accessible town planning, accessible services, etc.), the establishment of an ad-hoc consultation network with the participation of those youth, of those who work with and for them, of those who can assist them in planning and elaborating proposals, and of those who take decisions. Youths will lobby the local authorities in order to be committed, adapt and incorporate measures for resolving non-accessibility issues that concern them (disabled youth) or are of interest for them (the rest participated youth).
A final transnational meeting will boost the exchange of the results and will safeguard an impetus for feedback, monitoring and viability of the measures to be taken. The method of non-formal learning is present throughout the project (outdoor research activities, consultation panel-roundtable, development of a political ‘manifesto’, monitoring of the implementation by those who take decisions of the youths’ proposals) and will lead to the acquisition of competencies by the youths, of self-confidence, of new skills, and of a knowledge that boosts their personal and social development.

Hebron YDRC International Internship

Hebron YDRC International Internship
2013 - 2014

The Hebron Youth Development Resource Center (YDRC) is a space for Palestinian youth to develop their skills in different areas, engage with their peers, and become active members of their communities. Located in Hebron-Palestine, the YDRC offers a diverse range of youth programming, designed to empower youth and help them realize their leadership potential.
The Hebron YDRC was established in the Palestinian Child’s Home Club (PCHC), a sports and cultural organization that has worked to build a culture of peace and respect for human rights since 1996. The YDRC model has helped expand programming at the club, and today the center has grown into an indispensable resource platform for youth. The programming offered through the YDRC, coupled with continued sports and cultural opportunities, is helping to create a foundation of leaders to build a stronger community in the Hebron area. The YDRC serves as a hub for youth throughout the southern West Bank, as it is also linked with a network of eight affiliated youth clubs in the area.
